Getting Started

    Halifax Dance Competition Information

Thunderstruck Canada is excited for our Halifax Dance Competition to be held May 8 to 10, 2020. Studio Directors are encouraged to visit our Getting Started page. It is an excellent resource with links to the information and tools you will need.

The general Competition Schedule is finalised 45 days prior and available through an interactive calendar that allows you to print, set-up notifications, and even import into your calendar (via iCal). Routine order and performance times will be made available through your studio, or you can purchase the Event App. It gets you early access to the entire schedule, live performance time updates, and many other great features.

    Master Classes Enhance Your Dancing

You can register for the dance classes through your studio. Our adjudication panel will teach the classes in three different styles. The Master Classes are integrated into the event and offered at times that do not conflict with dancers competition times. Times and additional details will be published closer to the event. Studios can register dancers online or by sending us an email before the event. Space permitting, you can also register by visiting the merchandise table.

    Top Studio Challenge Online Battle

It is going online to create an exciting new experience for dancers. Top Studio Challenge Online eliminates the obstacle and costs associated with the geography of our country. We've also eliminated routine fees with a simple dancer fee for a low cost of entry. The event will stream live over social media so dancers and audience can watch, engage and share with family and friends. Routines will be adjudicated to qualify for the Battle. Battle qualifiers will all get a social media card they download and share. Adjudicators will rank the Battle and provide live commentary before the winners are announced live and posted on our social media channels. We have new regalia and awards being developed so stay tuned.
