Biography


Rebecca’s diverse knowledge in the dance world has taken her throughout North America working with many studios winning numerous choreography awards and recognitions. Rebecca’s training derives from such schools as “The National Ballet School of Canada”, “Quinte Ballet School”, & “Dance Zone Performing Arts Centre”. She completed the program at the reputable “Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts” following high school. Her experiences have made her a well-rounded performer, teacher, choreographer & adjudicator. Rebecca recently relinquished her 7-year role as one of the Directors’ of Dance Zone Performing Arts Centre in NS, to be with her husband in Pittsburgh. She currently resides there, where she continues to share her love of dance with dancers near and far.

Rebecca is a certified “ADAPT” teacher. She continues to attend conventions and workshops to stay current for her students.

Rebecca’s diverse knowledge in the dance world has taken her throughout Canada working with dancers of all ages through workshops and choreography sessions. Many studios have hired Rebecca for her choreographic expertise and versatility. Her diverse background gives her the skills to educate young dancers in various styles. Her extensive training started 26 years ago in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Contemporary, Modern and Hip-Hop.

Rebecca’s formal training derives from such schools as “The National Ballet School of Canada”, “Quinte Ballet School”, & “Dance Zone Performing Arts Centre”. She then continued her post-secondary education at the reputable “Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts” receiving a diploma in Performing Arts. From there she broadened her skills into the Musical Theatre and film and television world. Making her a well-rounded performer, teacher, and choreographer.

Rebecca recently relinquished her 7-year role as one of the Artistic Directors’ of Dance Zone Performing Arts Centre in Elmsdale, NS, to be with her husband in Pittsburgh, PA. She currently resides in Pittsburgh where she continues to share her creativity and love of dance with dancers near and far. Rebecca takes pride in her versatility as a dancer, instructor, choreographer and adjudicator.

She has worked with various schools throughout North America winning many choreography awards and recognitions. Previous students of Rebecca’s have gone onto such institutions as Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts, Peridance Capezio Center in New York, Quinte Ballet School, Royal Winnepeg Ballet School, The National Ballet School of Canada and George Brown College just to name a few.

Rebecca has obtained her teaching certification through the “ADAPT” syllabus completing their 3-year teacher-training program. She continues to broaden her skills at conventions and workshops to bring the most up to date and current work to her students. Rebecca believes dance instructors make the best adjudicators, and she brings to the table a wide variety of skills and expertise. She hopes to continue to have opportunities to share her knowledge and love of dance with dancers across North America.
