Biography


Karen Jardine grew up in St.Albert, Alberta, attending Alberta Ballet School and Edmonton School of Ballet. As a student, she was privileged to dance with Edmonton’s finest instructors, namely, Deborah Morgan, Ross Brierton, Hanne Livingstone, Janet Hagisavis, Clinton Rothwell, David Adams, Lambrous Lambrou. Professional programs offered her a well rounded experience in character, modern, jazz, pas de deux, repertoire, stage, and ballet. Karen spent many years dancing as a student onstage with Alberta Ballet, as a member of Edmonton’s Festival Ballet, and competing extensively with Highland Dance. A graduate of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, Professional Division, Teachers’ Course, Karen has taught and lived in Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan. She has made Thunder Bay, Ontario her home, training dancers in classical ballet, highland, lyrical, musical theatre and jazz for 20 years. Karen is a Fellow with Cecchetti Canada and recipient of the Enrico Cecchetti Final Diploma.
