Biography


Jesse Robb (Dancer/Choreographer) is a native to Ontario, and graduated in 2002 with honours from Tisch School of the Arts, New York University. He most recently worked as a choreographer for Walt Disney World International out of Toronto. Just prior to this he worked with the Billy’s for the premiere of Billy Elliot The Musical in Chicago, as well as created new works for EZDANZA Montreal. He also danced a principal role for the Bravo film Nureyev and a Pas De Deux for the Winter Olympics in Vancouver.

In the summer of 2009 he took up residence in Montreal to work on a remount of the musical Joe Dassin for the Franco Follies Festival. From 2007 until 2009 he acted as Resident Choreographer for the North American Premiere of Dirty Dancing at the Royal Alexandra Theatre. Prior to this, he acted as Dance Captain and Associate Resident on We Will Rock You (2006/07) at the Cannon Theatre. Other recent projects include a featured role in Canticum Canticorum a film for CBC’s 2007 season and dance captain for the world premiere of Lord of The Rings (2005) at the Princess of Wales Theatre.

He was an original member of Cirque du Soleil's production of Zumanity (2003) at the New York, New York Hotel in Las Vegas. Jesse has also toured internationally with several celebrated dance companies such as Les Ballets Jazz de Montreal, Momix, and the Kevin Wynn Collection. Earlier in his career, he performed in the First National Tour of Fame (1999) and the production of Beauty and the Beast at Walt Disney World, Florida (1997).

Jesse’s own work and choreography have been performed at several New York venues including NYU’s Retrospective and more recently at City Centre NYC. He has taught Master Classes for Cirque du Soleil’s tour of Delirium and for Les Ballets Jazz De Montreal, as well as substituted at both Steps on Broadway and DanceSpace NYC. Jesse has judged extensively, both in Canada and the U.S.
